Seen – (Acrylic, Silver Leaf and 24ct Gold Leaf on Canvas)
painted for Jewish House
Life can become very bleak. It can feel as if you have fallen down into a very deep mine shaft and no one knows you are there. You scream and scream. People hear you and run off to get help. But they don’t see where you are and can’t understand why you can’t get out. They might throw you a rope, not realising it is not long enough or strong enough. It’s when someone looks and actually sees you. When they see how deep the hole is and how lonely and frail you are, only then, when you are seen, that they can fully appreciate the predicament you’re in and with their support, together, you can work towards a solution. It’s only when you are really seen, that you know you are no longer alone.
